Orchestral cello parts good?

Our school orchestra goes on tour next year, and the driver has called suggestions of things We like to play. I was wondering if anyone knows of some things with the cello parts good, be great, not just a boring bass lines for the entire tour. He said he wanted "popular music". I was thinking in 1812 Overture / unfinished symphony, any other suggestions? Thanks!
