How to play Slide Guitar (preferably in standard tuning)?
I've been playing my acoustic steel string for a while now and wanted to get into game slide. I just bought a bottle neck glass slide and I have been researching different methods. And I think I want to try learning slide in standard tuning right from the start. I want to learn slide guitar to supplement my normal finger-picking acoustic style, not replace it. I want to be able to play well then: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/slide+guitar/video/x6glk0_slide- Nashville-badass-todd_music http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/slide + guitar/video/xah09o_delta-blues-slide-guitar-lessons-da_music Search http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/-guitarra / + sonny guitar/video/x42px1_sonnylandrethcrossroadsguitarfestiv_music So please tell me everything you need to know on slide guitar. Thank you.
You want to use either the slide on his little finger or ring finger. The key to keeping unwanted noise is down to silence the strings behind the slide with your index and middle fingers to keep it clean. One trick while playing is to keep your thumb on the back of the neck in line with his middle finger making sure to keep the slide up and down in parallel to the frets. standard setting slide playing is definitely more difficult than with an open tuning, but it sure is not desirable have to tune all the time as come and go. G is an easy key to play in standard tuning as to at least the opening d, g and b strings to make a line of sun most important thing in my opinion, besides lots of practice and listening to players of slides, mutes the strings behind the slide. It makes a huge difference! I would recommend listening to some Allman Brothers, there are some great licks to collect. Hope this helps.
